The Path Inward
From a very young age, I felt different. It was a belief I ingrained in myself early on – that I didn’t quite fit in, that something wasn’t right. And when I look back now, it makes perfect sense that I became a yoga teacher.
That little girl inside me was always seeking – searching for a path back inward. I was a performer; I trained as a ballet dancer. But even then, I felt out of place. The discipline felt too rigid. It didn’t align with who I was.
What I loved when I first stepped onto a yoga mat in my 20s was that it allowed me to explore movement without performance. Yes, there was shape and structure—but it didn’t feel forced. I wasn’t performing for anyone. I was simply showing up for myself. Slowly, something started to unravel. I began to understand movement. Then breath. Then meditation. And I could feel the difference, not just on the mat, but in my life.
We are constantly meeting ourselves.
At the same time, I was also living in suffering. I’ve walked a long path through addiction. My earliest memory of self-harming and using was at 15, and I spent the next 22 years trying to balance life and the pain I was masking underneath it all.
Yes, things happened in my life. Growing up. In my marriage. But the deeper trauma was the disconnect from myself. That’s what I’ve had to work – really work – to rebuild: the sense of unconditional love I had been seeking everywhere else.
It hasn’t come easy. But that’s why I do what I do.
I want to help others see their worth. To remind you that you don’t have to live in suffering. The tools are here to create ease, softness, and transformation. So let’s use them.
And while we’re at it – let’s not take ourselves too seriously. Yes, we’re working with sacred, unseen forces. Yes, we’re healing. But sometimes a little laughter helps lighten the load.
One thing I’ve learned: you can do all the healing in the world, but eventually… you have to live in it. Let it breathe through your daily life. Let it shape how you show up.
We are constantly re-meeting ourselves. Constantly being made anew.
And that’s the magic of it all. It doesn’t matter the modality…
This journey is, at its core, one of self love.
Wherever you are on your path, I’m so grateful you’re here.
With love and kindness,
Emma xxx
